Right fielder Mike Cameron homered and had 5 RBI and Roy Oswalt allowed Bob
Fidler to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Indiana Redbirds
topped the Carolina Copperheads by a score of 13 to 4 at Camden
Yards.

Cameron had a big evening at the plate. He tripled bringing in two
baserunners in the 2nd inning, smacked a three-run homer (his 1st of the
season) in the 8th inning and stroked a single in the 9th inning. Indiana
had a total of 17 hits for the game.

Oswalt(1-0) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Johan Santana(0-1)
was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 7 innings of
work.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Cameron said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'

game out in the 10th inning. Jason Bay was hit by a pitch. After an out was
recorded, Trot Nixon came up and he was walked intentionally. Tadahito
Iguchi then lined a one-base hit to load the bases. After another out, Jose
Reyes stepped in and he stroked a base-hit resulting in a mighty exciting win
for Indiana and the 46,810 home town fans in attendance. Indiana and
Carolina each finished the night with 13 hits.
