A Brief History:

Carolina first entered the league in 1997 with the mysterious Joey Santangelo at the helm.  Santangelo fileded quite a dismal team that year after he allowed a few draft picks to be selected by HAL and lists.  Santangelo was mortified at the poor showing and left at seasons end.  In came the charismatic Johnny Anderson.  Johnny Anderson moved from Oklahoma or somewhere thereabouts to the Western coast of Washington state.   Naming his team after his regions favorite sea creature, a clam (Geoduck is a funny looking clam) Anderson was an active CBA member who wheeled and dealed but unfortunatley got caught up in the great CBA collusion scandal in 1998.  A certain CBA member and another member were alleged by Anderson and Canadian River Valley's Mr.  Covert to be colluding to produce a mega franchise, with one team holding a minor league system for the other.  With an extensive council debate and public allegations flying, both Anderson and Covert resigned from CBA at Commissioners request.

In 1999 Diamond Dan Virgilio, a seasoned and excellent Strat-o-matic gamer took over promptly renaming the snakebitten franchise the Mackinaw Breakers. With an injection of expertise and shrewd player movement, the Breakers developed what Anderson had started.  DiVirgilio drafted well and traded even better bring the Breakers to the all time CBA best ever season turn around.  From 65 wins in 2000 to 102 wins the following year in 2001.  That Breaker season was a great one. One of the best in CBA history, and the fans in Michigan celebrated, but not for long because the franchise was in for some hard times ahead.  When Claude LeMarre resigned as commisioner in 2002, Dan left with him, and so did the spirit from this strong franchise.  Mackinaw went down in flames in the playoffs losing quickly in the first round.

New acting commisioner Chris Boutet brought in long time CBA member Eric Leger from the now defunct QSBL.  Leger named the franchise the Acadie Stars and lasted with CBA until 2004.  Leger never was able to duplicate the success of predecessor DiVirgilio, and left to concentrate on his NetPlay / Face to Face league in Quebec.  That set the stage for original CBA founder and Hall of Famer Gerald Benoit to return to CBA.  Gerald made his appearance resurecting  the team name Bodega Bay Madbirds in honor of his original CBA team franchise.  Gerald's interest in baseball waned after his beloved MLB Montreal Expos moved to D.C.  With that his love for MLB baseball fizzled and subsequently his desire to participate in this the greatest of all baseball simnulation experiences, Strat-o-matic.

In has come Glen Kernan from the long time GMBL league.  Glen has already started building this once proud franchise in his own image.  Glen will be attempting to reach the playoffs for the first time in 6 years with his T-Cats.  The real story may be yet written.
