CBA PRE-DRAFT NEWSLETTER (0.1)
Hi gentlemen,
First of all, I would like to thank you all for joining this new league. I
really appreciate it. The goal of this first newsletter is to inform you of the
guidelines for the draft and a reminder about the constitution of the league. I
want every one of you to have pleasure in this league. I tried to establish a
structure to help us reach this goal. I just want to send me your final
confirmation for joining the league. Send me an email ASAP to confirm all this,
because if you didn't do I'll have to think that you change your mind. Thanks.

Guidelines for the draft
It’s hard to find the ideal method for an ideal draft... in fact there is none.
I did explore a lot of possibilities to make the draft. The best way to conduct
a 34 rounds, 24 teams draft is drafting one round per day with lists. This draft
will be a serpentine of serpentine, so it will be 1 to 24, 24 to 1, 24 to 1, 1
to 24 (repeat this sequence until 34 rounds).
You will have to send a list to cover the number of your pick (if you draft 6th,
you need 6 names, and if you draft 23rd, you need 23 names). Please be the more
exhaustive possible (like : #1383, Alex Rodriguez, SS, Sea), to reduce the
confusion and the risk of error. Each player have a unique number, it’s easier
to track down. For the first 14th round, you will have to have in your team, one
player at each position, 4 starters, two relievers. This restriction is to
prevent stockpiling. I warn you, you must play the player for the position he
was selected. You don’t have to say that the player (Ripken play SS and 3B) will
play at that position, but by the end of the 14th round you must have one at
each position. No player not meeting requirements can be taken during those
rounds. At the end of the draft, the team must cover AB and IP for each position
and for pitcher (625 AB for each positions (if your conference use DH, you must
have 625 AB serving for that too) is required and 1450 IP for the entire crew,
see example for a better understanding). For the entire draft no team will be
allowed to pick up less than 11 pitchers and no more than 15 pitchers. During
those rounds, you will also have to pick the ballpark in which your team will be
involving. You can rename this ballpark if you wish, but you can never alter the
parameters of the ballpark.
Trading will be allowed during the draft, but there is only one restriction : if
team A trade two pick for one to team B, team A will have a pick after the 34th
round (we will continue with the serpentine of serpentine, if necessary) and
team B won’t pick for a 35th time in round 34. No team can do more than 34 pick.
Simple enough for restriction.
Drafting order will be determine randomly prior to the start of the draft, using
the questionnaire (I took your answers from 1-Best TV show and 2- Best actor) of
the entry form and a virtual 24 faces dice (determined by the number of shoot on
goal by the NY Rangers in their game against Montreal Canadians Wednesday, March
19th). The number of shoot on goal will determine the draft order. The official
draft order will be issue on Thursday March 20th.

various information regarding the CBA: Constitution, Newsletter, Team Rosters
and managers profile. Presently we're adapting the entry form you've sent to
build your manager profile. Each team will feature a unique logo, presently
Gerald Benoit (co-commissioner) is building those page and creating the
different logo. If you have talent in those thing don't hesitate to create your
own version and send it to Gerald at gbenoit@total.net. You'll be advise when
the league page will be available. In the mean time you can review the latest
version of the constitution and the information about your team name and e-mail
address.
In the next newsletter, later will be Thursday, I will send you the list of all
players available for the draft and the response from questions about the
leagues. Don’t worry to ask anything about the league.
Thanks
